You have done a great job in comparing the Coca-Cola’s annual reports with those that have been reviewed in the text. I did look them up too, and I agree with you that in no small extent, the reports have been outlined the same way as they are presented in the text(Hicks & Scott, 2014). I also agree with your point that the statements are clear and easy to go through. Financial reports of many companies are usually complicated and difficult to read. It is quite impressive to see a vast and complex company like Coca-Cola choose a very accessible format.
I also agree with your observation that Coca-Cola’s gross profit has been diminishing since 2014. This positive outcome is despite the fact that the company has an operation in very many countries around the world (Renz & Vogel, 2016). Increased competition from other companies dealing with beverages and a complicated operation are some of the reasons that have been cited to explain the decline in the company’s profitability (Venkataraman, Summers, & Venkataraman, 2017).
