The 1980s have been marked by the creation of new features on the French literature because of the migration of many ethnic groups to France. Because of the influx of immigrants into France, there was an emergence of the Beur community. Beur is a popular term used to refer to most of the North African immigrants into France. The sons and daughters of the immigrants created the Beur people after settling into France (Elia, 1997). Most of the older generations of people were illiterate when they left North Africa, and as a result, they did most of the unskilled labor across the Mediterranean region. The Beur people are not immigrants because they are the second generation of immigrants in France. The Beur literature composed by the Beur writers reflects the tension that existed because of migration to France.
The research aims to analyze Beur literature and its contributions to the post-colonial literary work. Through elaborating the criticality and centrality of the Beur literature and Beur people in France, the significance of Beur literature in understanding group realities, politics and culture assist in providing a full review of the works of literature composed by the people. There are many ominous issues brought by the experiences of the Beur people in society. The socio-cultural dislocation of the Beur people because of nation-building activities and modern colonialism affected their success. Through elaboration, the sinister issues they faced, a form of revolution centering their cultures and politics is established to create more changes in the society through the literature.
