Socrates was believed to be the wisest man of his time. I think what he meant by the unexamined life is not worth living was that a life which did not involve introspection and seeking of the truth was not worth living. Socrates pursued wisdom in all his endeavors. He believed that philosophy was the whole point of life; to understand oneself, pursue knowledge, and seek truth through logical reasoning (Dotts, 2018). I believe Socrates was right in his saying. To live an unexamined life is to turn away from wisdom.
