Mediated interpersonal relationships are satisfying compared to face-to-face relationships since one can easily read the facial expressions of their partners (Regan,2011) while in the face to face relationship. Face to face relationship is better as it allows good information exchange because the listener and the speaker can freely interact with one another. Both the listener and the speaker can interpret the facial expressions and the body language of one another easily.
Although nowadays people are fond of social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram where they are carried away by the posts on the social media, the face-to-face relationship remains effective compared to mediated one. People tend to think that with the improved technology maki g the whole world digitalized, communication can be more effective on social media platforms. This is where they go wrong since talking to people in person has various importances (Wu, 2019). One is that it is easy to convince people. Online communication can be hectic with a person you are disagreeing with. This is because you may lack full attention or there be a misinterpretation of words while speaking. Communicating in person with your partner is very essential since they are from point of view. This helps to save time while convincing them.
Face-to-face communications help to create stronger cnnections. This is because trust can rarely build through a textmessage. Trust is achieved through those people who see you everytime is different from those who you talk with online. This is very different in mediated relationships as it's rare to achieve certain trust when communicating through social media platforms (Dillion, 2016). This is because in these platforms people always hide their true identity and thus portray only what they want other people to see.
