The Positive and Negative Effect of Mobile Phones

Cell phones have become an essential communication device that many people use to transmit information. Its emergence is attributed to various technological devices originally developed for military purposes, including radar, surveillance, and communication. At first, cell phones were only useful in their normal daily lives within fifty-five meters. The invention of cellular phones has made them more sophisticated with many applications. They can be linked with other electronic devices like computers, televisions, and even handheld digital cameras. As time goes by, they are becoming even more common in our everyday lives. Cellular phones enable us to save time and money by not having to always carry heavy bags. With its ability to connect to any wireless network, we access data from anywhere and whenever we want. Other advantages include providing entertainment media and the ease of accessing music through MP3 players. However, several disadvantages of this technology include frequent phone calls, exposure to health hazards, theft, and addiction, among many others. Therefore, we are compelled to analyze whether cellular phones offer some of these benefits or are just detrimental to humanity.
