The Significance of Family as an Agent of Socialization
Families have a significant role in the character development of an individual. Parents and other family members have a substantial impact on the socialization of an individual. However, the effect of family on an individual decreases as one grows and interacts with others. The family has a meaningful role in how one interacts with others, handles different objects, and determines character development, especially in infancy, with its influence decreasing as one grows.
Family members play a significant role when teaching humans how to interact with others and use different objects. Research shows that the growth of human beings is significantly impacted by those surrounding them from their time of birth. It is worth noting that "family and parents are the core of education" during socialization (Baferani, 2015, p.421). It is worth noting that parents, siblings, grandchildren, and extended family members significantly contribute to the child's learning.
