Saving human beings' lives is a primary goal for almost every person; however, it is worrying that parents are increasingly turning down all the programs to vaccinate their children. This act is common among highly educated and wealthier parents compared to the less educated and wealthy counterparts. The parents' failure to take their children for immunization has increased the fears and risks of the outbreak of certain diseases such as polio, measles, and others that attack the young ones. Many parents' refusal to immunize their children is due to various factors, both personal and non-personal.
Religious beliefs are considered one of the reasons that parents are using to refuse immunization of their children. According to some religions, their followers are not supposed to obtain formal medical treatment. They instead believe that all the illnesses can be treated and cured spiritually through constant prayers. In most cases, these religions' leaders misguide their followers by making them believe that they have supernatural powers to heal them (McKee & Bohannon, 2016). In the end, the people who believe in such religions refuse to attend any formal medical treatment hence not taking their children for immunization.
