Assignment #4: Working at Disneyland Name: Ramanvir Singh Institutions: Lakeland College Course: Organizational behavior Instructor: Tori Lloyd Due Date: April 4 Working at Disneyland Introduction Getting to work at Disneyland, which is widely known to be the most favorable place on the planet, is a kind of dream job that many people seek. The purpose of this paper is to investigate Disneyland's corporate culture and work environment using the information gained from an analysis of https://jobs.disneycareers.com/ and other relevant articles. In addition, it gives a fair comparison of the job with Walmart Canada, taking note of the similarities and differences between the two companies. Working at Disneyland: Their Culture The culture that Disneyland publicly communicates on the Disney Careers website and reflects through employee testimonials appears to be storytelling-focused, inclusive, and guest-oriented, with the employees being creatively committed to wizarding. Taking openness, novelty, and the immense influence of imagination as its guiding principles, the company reveals its emblematic brands and its commitment to optimum customer experience. When working at Disneyland, staff can find professional roles that span from production to entertainment to guest service, marketing, and operations support (Disney Careers, n.d.). The variety of career paths undoubtedly implies that the organization pays attention to talent from different backgrounds who have diverse expertise and facilitate a vibrant and inclusive workforce. Employees' testimonials unveil that they work in a loving and vivid community where people unleash their skills and offer their contributions to make the business a success. An instance of such can be found in the portrayal of women making magic at Disney Parks, which demonstrates the high number of opportunities for those working there, such as mentorship, creativity, and growth, which, as a result, help to create a sense of belonging and pride among those working there (Life at Disney, 2024). Ultimately, Disneyland's culture is about staff development and empowerment to shape a work environment where all people can succeed regardless of whether they are costumed characters, maintenance staff, or anything else. Comparison with Walmart Canada In contrast, Walmart focuses on environmental sustainability, community relations, and diversity and inclusion programs. Though both Disneyland and Wal-Mart are striving to promote inclusive culture in their organizations, they differ in corporate culture and business. Among Canadian retailers, Walmart engages in the sale of competitively priced goods and services, as well as in the involvement of sustainable business practices and community development initiatives (Walmart Canada, n.d.). Business programs like 'Women in Retail' reflect the company's efforts to be inclusive and diverse, including Disneyland's commitment to empowering employees from different ethnicities. The nature of work and organizational culture at Walmart Canada might differ from Disneyland's because the retail industry has different needs and is structured differently. Although both companies encourage employee development and community involvement, these may be realized in varied environments and experiences,...
