Breast cancer presents the most invasive cancer affecting mostly the female population worldwide. The condition develops from a breast tissue with symptoms such as breast lump, nipple discharge, distortion of the breast shape and a red, scaly patch on the skin (Kabel & Baali, 2015). Family history is one of the most critical factors which significantly contributes to the development of breast cancer. The available evidence suggests that women with a strong family history of breast cancer inherit genetic mutations which modify the risk factors for the disorder and its associated clinic-pathological characteristics. The features of familial breast cancer remains a controversial issue since the documented evidence available shows inconsistent results (Kabel & Baali, 2015).
