Response to Presentation 1
As a nurse, Danielle and Brianna's presentation helped me understand that acupuncture is safe and effective in promoting quality care among patients with chronic illnesses. Initially, health practitioners relied on standard medicine to administer patients' treatment. However, the presentations enlightened my perspective on quality care by informing me that acupuncture can contribute to positive care outcomes. I can adopt acupuncture to treat non-cancer and chronic pain among adults since it considers the patient's input. According to Burstein et al. (2019), patient participation in the treatment process is crucial in achieving a quality outcome. Apart from stroke, acupuncture also relates to patients with stress, chronic pain, and asthma, among other chronic conditions. Acupuncture establishes a sense of ease by targeting illness origin to restore normal body functioning (Zhu, Arsovska & Kozovska, 2018). Hence, its application in chronic conditions such as stress and asthma leads to positive health outcomes.
