Covid 19 Vaccination Education Program
Covid 19 has been common among people of color, especially African and Latin Americans. The virus has been more deadly and severe to colored people compared to whites, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ("COVID-19 Hospitalization and Death by Race/Ethnicity", 2020). As a result, there are increased concerns about educating these communities on vaccines and the importance. In most cases, African Americans have been hesitant to take the covid 19 vaccine, increasing mistrust in the healthcare sector. Latin and African Americans are not much aware and educated about the vaccine due to past healthcare experiences. For this reason, I will collaborate with community pharmacists, universities and colleges in my project to collect resources and assets vital in educating the African Americans on covid 19 vaccination.
Community Partners
Without a doubt, communities will drive success or failure of covid 19 vaccines in most parts of the world. With the rising anti-vaccine sentiments globally, community partners such as Pharmacists, colleges and universities will be vital in educating individuals. I think that local pharmacists will be critical in educating communities since they have connections with the people. It will be challenging to educate people without pharmacists who directly have a link with most local people. People have more trust in pharmacists than in the healthcare systems, and this will be a breakthrough. In recent days, patient care by pharmacists in the U.S. has been seen to potentially improve the outcomes in an emergency state (Aruru et al., 2021, p. 1968). Even though pharmacists already play a vital role in the health response for covid 19, I think that by using their link to the people, they could significantly contribute to education efforts among the colored communities.
Higher education institutions such as universities and colleges play a vital role in society, especially finding solutions to problems the community faces. Additionally, many students have a significant impact on people's decisions, and I think using these institutions will help educate people on the need to take the covid 19 vaccines. Collaborating with universities to educate African Americans will boost my project to success levels, using the institution’s resources and community link with the locals. The education institutions will help me provide and distribute covid 19 vaccination materials to enlighten individuals before coming into contact with them. With these partners' help, I believe educating society will be useful to encourage people to take covid 19 vaccines.
Community Resources
In my campaign to increase public confidence in covid 19 vaccines and instilling prevention measures, various community resources will be essential for a successful process. One resource is the covid 19 vaccine toolkit provided by the CDC to help community-based organizations educate communities ("Community-Based Organizations COVID-19 Vaccine Toolkit", 2021, para. 3). Pharmacists, universities, and colleges will use the toolkit to inform communities and raise awareness of the vaccine's benefits. Similarly, the tool will help address common concerns and questions by the local community to instill trust in the healthcare system.
Another essential resource is the public and digital media like university prints and website. In most cases, colleges run blogs and websites that receive a lot of traffic, which will create an opportunity for the public to be educated on the importance of the vaccine. Campaign messages and scientific information will be posted on media, targetin
