The increased popularity of genetically modified products (GMOs) has heightened concerns about their safety in recent years. Public debates are normally centred around the dangers that GMOs pose to human and environmental health (Norris, 2015). Sceptics have raised concerns that there is a possibility of GMOs to adversely affect the wellbeing of humans. The perceived dangers of GMOs arise from their potential to lead to severe side effects that can damage body organs as a result of toxicity. Nonetheless, since different genes are used to develop GMOs, it is difficult to categorize all GMOs as safe or unsafe comprehensively.
