Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's patients
As a medical practitioner, I have not interacted with dementia or Alzheimer's patients during practice but rather during my early life. I noted that patients with either dementia or Alzheimer's have almost similar symptoms. The most pronounced of the symptoms include memory loss. Being confused with familiar environments is one trait I did not fail to notice. The most apparent symptoms and the least expected symptoms help identify the patients with either dementia or Alzheimer's.
The underlying symptoms of dementia or Alzheimer's vary from patient to patient. My experience with a dementia patient noted the repetition of similar questions over a short period. Also, difficulty in finding the right words to use was evident during the whole experience and conversation. The list pronounced of the symptoms is the fainting and the repeated fall. There are many symptoms associated with patients having dementia, and the symptoms range from the most common to the most unusual (Bergh & Selbæk, 2012). Just bur to mention a few, some of the symptoms outlined by Bergh & Selbæk include memory problems such as "regularly forgetting recent events, names and faces asking questions repetitively.
Other symptoms include increasing difficulties with tasks and activities that require organization and planning
