Asia health services (ASH) face various external forces, which have many effects in its operation. The health care industry in California is very competitive with each health service provider aiming at gaining the highest market share (Unger, 2012). Some of the medical players in the market are Sutter health with a market share of $12.4 billion in revenues, Stanford health care at $5.9 billion, UPMC, HCA, ASANTE, Excelahealth, Banner Health, and St Luke medical center.
In every operational environment, there are external forces, which affect operations in one way or the other. For the case study, ASH faces cultural differences, considering the organization offers services primarily to refugees and low-income immigrant of Asian and Pacific Islander (Courto & Eken, 2002).
