The disparity in the health and social context is a chain of the event signified by the differences in the access to the utilization and the quality of care, environment, health status and the particular outcome of the health scrutiny. On some research conducted Karter found that there are differences in the access to the quality health services and its care. The issue has been believed to the principal cause of health disparities in the society.
The equal access and quality of the health care leave the number of other potential explanations for the health disparities that are experienced. The variations come with the differences in the social, environmental factors that sometimes influence the patients’ beliefs, preferences, knowledge and the self-efficacy to the barriers that come with different costs, poor communication between the patients and doctors, the culture difference between them and the discrimination due to the social status of the patients.
In the US, the most common disparity reported is diabetes, cancer, and the cardiovascular diseases. Other diseases like HIV/AIDS, cerebrovascular and the unintentional injuries. Besides these disparities, there were ethnic or racial groups that were being discriminated from the access of proper health facilities, and it is believed that some types of equipment were separated such that if you are from a low or an African, you will have to be treated differently from other white patients.
