Abstract
The article to be analyzed elaborates about the high prevalence rates of cancer among the various people in society. The high rates of cancer were more prevalent to the racial and ethnic minorities in the United States because of receiving inadequate treatment services in most of the hospitals. That prevents people from achieving health equality. Through the healthy people 2020 initiative, the disparities of the people can be minimized, and the health services can be offered without discrimination. The health people 2020 goals advocates having healthy equality among the various people existing in society. That would be effective in creating a higher rate of success among the people in the United States. Healthy people 2020 initiative advocates the reduction of the prevalence and the reduction in the death rates on the cancer patients.

The mortality rate, incidence and the survival rates of cancer patients since 1950 to 2014 is analyzed in the article to expose the details of the nature of the disease towards the deterioration of the health of individuals. According to the research findings, the socio-economic prevalence of all the types of cancer has been changing over time. The research showed that the individuals who had access to lower education and the lower income groups had higher incidences of cancer and their death rates were high. The education and income inequalities have changed drastically since 1979 to 2011 with high rates of cancer shown during that period. Mortality rates were higher among the blacks and lower on the Asians and the Hispanic people in the society. The patient survival rates among the cancer patients were lower in the most deprived neighborhoods as well as the minority groups existing in the society. The findings of the research show that the prevalence of cancer was higher in the areas whereby the people were living in deprived conditions.
