Evidence Based Practice (EBP) is the incorporation of three areas of the health care namely expert opinion, scientific evidence and the view of the caregiver in arriving at the best solution to problems facing health care delivery. This means that they will eliminate any problems facing patients and have drastic improvements for the same services. EBP ensures that the kinds of services delivered are of a higher value, in line with the needs and the common problems facing the customers who in this case happen to be the patients and the other stakeholders in the health care field. This paper will be looking at the barriers facing the implementation of EBP in the health care sector.
There are several barriers to implementing ERB in the health care provision which are found at the individual level and organizational level (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2015). There have been politics in many areas and the health care sector has not been immune to the same. Some of these could be obstructing a certain directive simply because it has come from someone who is not perceived as subscribing to similar believes as those of the other members. These and other forms of alignments will interfere with EBP. Some organizational cultures may exist to act as barriers to any changes being affected.
