Introduction A Professional Development Plan (PDP) is a significant attribute in the career of an individual that evaluates their competencies and skills, outlining actionable stages to develop fresh skills to align with the desired outcomes. Nursing is godly profession that makes the profession to give best treatment and care to their patients. Becoming an expert in oncology nursing, patient care will be enhanced through evidence-based practices, thereby enable operate complex treatment regimens professionally. This reflective assessment will present a PDP that offers a basic to expertise formulation in the oncology profession. The PDP lays a foundation of deep individual experiences from interest to transition to expertise in the nursing profession that enables the individuals to show love and care in the healthcare settings. 2. Summary of learning and experiences The assessment dives deep into providing experiences of become a nursing student to graduated registered nurse. It was the love for the care that embeds me to take this profession. The experience with the nurses since the initial day I went into the hospital was amazing. The love and care I got from the nurses showed me education and interest in the nursing profession. To be an expert and effective in oncology nursing, I wanted to be specialized in cancer care, which will include knowledge of chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and palliative support. It was going to impact me with a certification in oncology nursing and to develop strong leadership competencies. As influenced by Tedla & Hamid (2022), leadership competencies will allow me to assume positions that help with collaboration, decision-making and strategic problem-solving in complex healthcare settings. Taking up a nursing course and to be highly effective in the health care settings, being a graduate required an inclusive five-year plan that can help me steer the initial stages of my career and develop me thoroughly for long-term success. The comprehensive five year plan, it enabled me to go through certain learning’s from foundation to expertise helped me develop the nursing profession. The five year plan allowed enhancing my foundation in nursing and professionalism, practicing cultural diversity, and advocating the patient rights. I also learned about promotion of nursing leadership, fostering collaboration, interdisciplinary and embracing innovation and technology healthcare. Towards the end of stages, promoting nursing education, progressing nursing research, and stimulating a culture of patient safety and continuous quality improvement. It helped me assess the progress and setting essential future goals to successful transition into oncology nursing emphasizing a continuous professional development, clinical achievements, and spheres for improvement. 3. Identification of goals that can have a positive impact on the nursing profession When I think about my experience as a nursing student and future nurse, I realise the significance of establishing goals that will be consistent with my personal growth as well as the progress of the profession of nursing as a whole. The two most important goals I think I would achieve with a lot of impact are to get certified in oncology nursing and to develop strong leadership competencies. To be able to work in oncology nursing, you need to gain specialised knowledge in cancer care, which will include knowledge of chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and palliative support (Alsadaan et al. 2021). Obtaining an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential will ensure that the practice is evidence-based and thereby enhance patient outcomes and quality of care in the oncology setting. Besides clinical expertise, leadership skills are necessary to advocate for patients, lead nursing teams, and impact the policies of health care. Leadership competencies will allow me to assume positions that help with collaboration, decision-making and strategic problem-solving in complex healthcare settings. Having a leadership position does not always translate to the existence of leadership, creating a supportive work culture, empowering colleagues and providing ethical and patient-centred care. These goals will enable me to practise in a nursing profession that is both clinically competent and resilient to the changing face of healthcare challenges. 4.
