This task was about the relationship between pharmacology and pathophysiology and how prior knowledge of pathophysiology will help in this course. Pathophysiology is the study of how diseases develop as well as how they impact the body up to the cellular level. It is the foundation of all medical knowledge, and it is essential for advanced practice nurses to understand pathophysiology in order to provide the best possible care for their patients. In this course, I learned and understood to a great extent the various cells, tissues, organs and systems of the body in relation to how diseases can affect them. The Relationship Between Pharmacology and Pathophysiology
The relationship between pharmacology and pathophysiology is both intricate and ever-changing. In order to offer treatment that is both safe and effective for patients of any age, gender and physical condition it is necessary to have a solid understanding of pharmacologic concepts. Moreover, it is fundamental to have a complete comprehension of the mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of a medication or treatment in order to predict and effectively control any possible adverse effects (Burchum & Rosenthal, 2021).
Pathophysiology, as previously studied incorporated a complete comprehension of the alterations that take place in the body at both normal and cellular level due to the effect of a disease. Thus, when formulating a treatment strategy for patients across lifespan, it is critical to take pathophysiology into account since the root cause of an illness has the potential to influence the degree of the effectiveness
