As the expert in the school, he assess the general system care and cultivates a strategy (plans for emergency and confidential communication for students) for guaranteeing the health requirements are met. Furthermore, he promotes health by giving out health education information to students through training. Finally, the role of the nurse is not central just to caring for sick patients; he also acts as the mediator between the school, family, heath care professionals and the community. I observed that there were significant difference and similarities between the role and duties of a school nurse and that of an acute care pediatric nurse. First pediatricians usually offer uninterrupted backing for school nurses by attending on school wellness strategy committee, and local physicians are usually asked to consult on scripting school-related strategies, and the school nurses can also perform this role. Also, the main difference between them is that pediatricians play an active role in educating the school nurse. That is they update the research findings and recommendations thus keeping the school nurse on the know of any new practice. Physical growth and development of children are essential. The nurse gave me the responsibility of weighing the children’s height and weight and, later on, recording their body mass index.
