PREPARING YOUR SELF-ASSESSMENT
The DNP Essentials (AACN, 2006) outline several scientific underpinnings for practice competencies. Reflect on the DNP7100 course readings, discussion threads, and assignments you have completed across this course and write a short essay regarding the extent to which you feel you are now prepared to:
1. Use science-based theories and concepts to:
a. Determine the nature and significance of health and healthcare delivery phenomena.
b. Identify a practice problem at the microsystem, mesosystem, and macrosystem.
c. Describe the actions and advanced strategies to enhance, alleviate, and ameliorate health and healthcare delivery phenomena as appropriate; and
d. Evaluate outcomes.
2. Use the nursing ways of knowing and analyze the implementation of a selected theoretical perspective into evidence-based practice.

Self-Assessment Assignment
A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree requires substantial academic and professional dedication. The DNP program emphasizes applying critical thinking, evidence-based practice (EBP), and findings from clinical research. The graduates are thought leaders in their respective fields, adept at translating research into practice, and able to evaluate the efficacy of new interventions consistently. Doctors of Nursing Practice practitioners should be familiar with the EBP process and be able to lead their teams effectively through it. In 2006, the AACN published Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice comprising eight core competencies defining advanced nursing practice at the doctoral level. Assessing the evidence for a practice project determines whether or not a healthcare provider has implemented all of the anticipated operational enhancements. Therefore, medical professionals should be willing to utilize an evaluation method that investigates structural changes within the healthcare system. This paper will assess whether I have acquired the required knowledge, skills, and integrative abilities to meet the acceptable doctor of nursing program requirements.
Reflection on the Course Achievement
Nature and Significance of Health and Healthcare Delivery Phenomena
The phenomenon of healthcare delivery is critical because it describes sensations such as exhaustion or other associated experiences that affect a person's health status and their significance in nursing practice. This section of Essential V examines healthcare policy through the lens of healthcare lobbying. Since healthcare policy is vital in nursing practice, DNP graduates must have knowledge and skills in this area. As a result of my clinical practice experiences, I intend to be an active advocate for healthcare reform when I become a DNP professional. I am prepared to lead the development and implementation of healthcare policy at the institutional, local, state, federal, and international levels guided by the eight essential components of healthcare policy.
Practice Problem at the Microsystem, Mesosystem, and Macrosystem
The Microsystem Theory of Bronfenbrenner focuses on the mesosystem, microsystem, and exosystem that influence a person's health. The interactions between microsystems make up the mesosystem. The exosystem indirectly impacts people and exists outside their control (Crawford, 2020). All other systems and social structures make up the macro system. The almost sole focus of Bronfenbrenner's theory is on the adverse effects of cruelty and injustice on a person's growth and development. Numerous healthcare delivery macrosystems, such as emergency medical services, hospitals, nursing homes, and community health clinics, contribute data to the public health system. On the other hand, professionals who hold a doctorate in nursing practice can make bold decisions to enhance patient care. The care continuum levels require transformation to achieve a patient-centered, high-quality, safe, and efficient healthcare system.
Appropriate Strategies for Healthcare Delivery
Graduates of DNP programs should be competent in analyzing health promotion, illness prevention, and care gaps initiatives. The focus of nursing is health promotion and risk reduction. According to AACN criteria VII, I can participate in health promotion and risk reduction activities as a nurse if I have training in assessing and interpreting data to improve patients' health status. DNP students evaluate epidemiological, biostatistical, occupational, and environmental data in the context of public health. The DNP program prepares registered nurses for advanced specialties (Beeber et al., 2019). Every DNP graduate must be able to evaluate and base their practice on biophysical, psychological, behavioral, sociopolitical, cultural, and economic nursing science. The deployment and evaluation of therapeutic interventions may affect clinical practice and scholarly study. DNPs can impact health policy, clinical practice, academia, and leadership by enhancing patient care and results. DNPs can provide and assess evidence-based therapies to improve patient outcomes, policy, clinical practice, academia, and leadership. Mentoring affects the practice and leadership of healthcare.
DNP Practicum Project Team Mentorship Reflection
Putting my DNP practicum knowledge to use is an essential aspect of the healthcare industry that will help me consolidate and improve my current understanding of medical practice modes. My mentor was beneficial in identifying the investigative needs for revitalizing the practice's outcome, testing and intervention in program models, and developing a care plan based on scientific evidence. His ability to guide me through the procedure made it possible. My mentor took the time to explain the intervention and communication programs offered by the program. These programs, which employ the AI...
