Should Nurses Work More Hours During their Shifts? (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

This paper was an argumentative essay discussing whether nurses should work longer shifts of at least 12 hours and have more days off work or retain the standard 8-hour shifts. I argued in favor of the regular 8-hour working schedule. My position is anchored on the thesis statement that reads, “Even though there are some benefits associated with long working schedules, this mode of operation causes exhaustion and dispossesses nurses of their social life, resulting in low-quality service delivery in healthcare institutions.”
