Sugar intake has been a problem in the United States, although it is good to consume it, it should be limited since people are taking too much of it. Scientists have proven that excess consumption of sugar increases the blood's insulin level, thus affecting the arteries in the body. Their walls get inflamed, thus growing thicker, stressing the heart as it cannot pump the blood well. Therefore, it leads to heart diseases like heart failure and strokes. This argumentized essay will discuss why it is important for the United States government to restrict sugar.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers sugar as a safe food for consumption at a certain level. Past that level can be harmful; however, the Americans have been consuming three times than the recommended level. This is the reason why there is a high level of obesity cases.
