It is realistic that most of the factors could be identified through assessment. According to literature, it has been found that bariatric handling toolkits are available. Moreover, when handling acute cases, it is important to focus on respective patients individually. This could enhance the process of raising efforts for accomplishment and at the same time reinforcing goal-directed behavior. Research indicate that caring for bariatric patients is somewhat time consuming and as well stressful based on acuity level (Bryant & Nix, 2012). It is recommended that the care provider should at all times avoid display of frustration and anger at the patients should be emphasized. It is challenging that the care process for the bariatric patients require selection of words like BMI values, bariatric, soft tissues and extended capacity rather than the use of words like obese, weight problem, unhealthy, fat, big-boy commode/ stretcher or wheelchair. When handling bariatric care and obesity, the two terms are more or less the same since they are associated conditions within healthcare system. In other words, bariatrics refers to treatment of obesity, moreover it include not only effective care in provision of adequate mobility for promoting health for patients, but also implications about healthcare administration for the healthcare workers. In a nutshell, obesity could be defined as a state whereby a person’s body weight ranges above value considered as healthy/ ideal for his/her status. If the BMI is between 25 and 30 the patient is classified as overweight, but weight between 30 and 40, the patient is considered to be obese (Bryant & Nix, 2012). It could be explicit to state that as the patients’ weight move higher in the BMI index table, they exceed ideal recommended weight to a greater extent. According to Al-Shamsi (2008), incidence of poor compliance and errors in obtaining and recording patients’ weight measurements is digress to the efforts towards enhancing safety of bariatric patients in acute care setting. In addition, Thompson (2011) asserts that healthcare practitioners should take accurate weight measurements in order to enhance clear and recognizable relations so that there would be clear and accurate intervention requirements when handling a patient. According to research carried out in 2010, bariatrics caused over 3.4 million deaths, 3.9% yearly and about 3.8 disability adjusted life years (DALYs) globally (Bagchi & Preuss, 2012). However, it is impractical that the rate is widespread despite the technological advancement which should be used to derive effective strategies of reducing mortalities. The decision makers are challenged in strategizing for how to enhance safe and healthy lifestyle, so the global populace would be reprieved from the dangers of the malady. According to Kushner & Still (2014), it is estimated that the global proportion of adults with BMI above 25kg/m2 has greatly increased from 28.8%(95% UI 28·4–29·3) to 36·9% (36·3–37·4) in men and correspondingly from 29·8% (29·3–30·2) to 38·0% (37·5–38·5) in women. Research also indicate that bariatrics prevalence in children and adolescents is higher in the developing world; 23·8% (22·9–24·7) of boys and about 22·6% (21·7–23·6) of girls are affirmed to be either overweight or obese, by the year 2013 (Kushner & Still, 2014; Al-Shamsi, 2008).
