Betty Neuman was born in early 20th century in Lowell, Ohio (Sitzman et al., 2011). She held a BS in nursing, MS in mental Health and Public Health consultation. Dr. Betty Neuman began developing a systems model to teach a nursing course to nursing students. Betty Neuman theory was bases on the philosophy of Pierre Teilhard deChardins belief in human beings continual developing towards a state of perfection. Gestalt Theory suggests that the dynamic collaboration of the person and the condition regulates understanding and actions. The general adaptation syndrome deals with persons' response to pressure on anxiety, struggle and fatigue. Lazlo general systems theory assumes that the world is made up of organizations interrelated and swayed by each other.
Neuman believes that nursing requires a complete approach that deliberates all issues touching a customer's health bodily, functional, emotional, rational, communal, traditional, improvement and divine health (Eichelberger et al., 2011). A person in the theory is an individual in a family or community. The person is observed as open system working collectively through additional parts of its body as it interrelates with the setting.
The Neuman Systems Model sees the customer as open systems that react to stressors in the atmosphere. The consumer variables are physical, functional, sociocultural, growth, and mystical. The client structure comprises of essentials that is safe by lines of conflict. The normal level of health is recognized as the common line of protection that is safe by malleable line of resistance. The stressors are interpersonal, intrapersonal and extra personal in natural surroundings and are interior or exterior. Once stressors disrupts the malleable line of protection, the structures is attacked and the lines of conflict are triggered and the systems is designated as moving into ailment on well-ill range.
