Introduction
Battle of the Midway (June 3-6, 1942) remains one of the most significant World War II battles fought between the Imperial forces of Japan (IFJ) and the United States (US). Fought entirely with aircraft and sea vessel, the US managed to overpower Japans then advanced first-carrier strength together with is well trained naval forces. Fought in the Midway (known as the Midway between North America and Asia in the North Pacific Ocean),   the battle became the US's most iconic naval victories of WWII. IFJ, before the Battle of the Midway, had not lost a single war for 50 years, with its latest victory over America being the Pearl harbour attack in Hawaii (1,300 miles east of the Midway) six months before the Battle of the Midway. As such, the imperial IFJ leader Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto considered the battle of the Midway a knockout blow.
