Black History Month is a yearly celebration on success and achievements contributed by African -Americans as well as the month of recognizing the critical role played by blacks in the History of the United States. It is celebrated in February. On the other Women, History month is a yearly declared month which highlights Women's contributions to the historical events and contemporary society. In the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom are celebrated in March. Today we still need these celebrations, and I'm afraid I have to disagree with the abolishment of both Black History Month and Women History month for the following reasons.
Black History month should by continue existing and celebrated as it reinforces the American culture not just for the blacks but also to the other races. I think the study of Black History needs to be expanded from one month to the whole year. The black month is highlighting the African American key leaders who participated in the History of the United States. The celebration has been able to help US and Canadian citizens understand the American History together with the key contributors of this development.
