The greater east Asia co-prosperity sphere refers to the concept created by the Japanese empire to occupy Asian populations from 1930-1945. The concept promoted by the Japanese was an expansionist program to create a Greater East Asia co-prosperity sphere for Asians. Through the greater East Asia co-prosperity sphere, Japan was able to occupy various regions across the Southeast area, including parts of China, Korea, and other areas. The occupation of the Japanese empire led to the transfer of technology to the occupied regions (Davidann, 2016). In the early days of there was a high demand for trucks; however, the government set economic reforms that increased the demand for vehicles of all kinds in the 1970s during the Maoist era. The economic reforms in the country led to an enormous demand for vehicles of all types and pressure to the motor vehicle industry that was only able to produce a small number of vehicles per year.
