The Rise of Partisan Politics
Individuals who wrote the constitution did not wish for the development of everlasting political parties. However, during the mid-1970s, two distinct dissenting groups emerged. One of the dissenting group was known as the federalist. Members of the federalist group combined efforts to boost the vision of Alexander Hamilton’s nation during the Washington administration. Nonetheless, Hamilton’s vision was strongly opposed by the democratic-republicans, also referred to as the republicans (Human.libretexts.org, 2018). Opposition leaders were James Madison and Thomas Jefferson; they took significant time to advance since no national leader would formulate a party against the ruling one.
