How to End Terrorism
Terrorism involves using threats of violence and creating fear, not just within the direct victims but among a broad public. Most countries in the world have been victims of or have been affected by terrorism and terrorist attacks. Consequently, these countries have created plans and measures to counter terrorism and bring terrorists to face the law. However, I feel that the war on terrorism is a forgotten agenda, and countries have eased their terrorism measures. Understanding the root causes of terrorism can help end terrorism. We can be involved in the war to ending terrorism by creating policies that help combat terrorism through advanced technology, withdrawal of the U.S. army from other countries, and educating the public on being vigilant at all times.
Terrorist attacks are relatively easy to conduct because most of these attacks occur in areas frequented by people, such as airports and train stations. We should use modern-day technologies to monitor what terrorist groups do and when and which places they plan on attacking. For example, we can use drones fitted with cameras as surveillance technologies to monitor areas where terrorist organizations live and meet (Cayford & Pieters, 2018). These drones can be equipped with missiles in cases where it is a targeted killing program. Surveillance technologies will help destroy terrorist plots and reduce terrorist organizations. Thus, surveillance technologies will be important in ending terrorism.
