Over the years, many factors and events have had significant influences on art. The American and French Revolutions are classic examples of notable social events that impacted art enormously. These revolutionary ructions of the late 18th Century gave rise to influential painters that altered essentially how art and artists viewed aspects such as their age as well as the suitability of various subjects when depicting historical-style canvas.
The American Revolution, which occurred between 1775 and 1783, had a significant impact on art. Its most notable impact is the emergence of renowned American artists and painters such as John Trumbull, The Peale family, and Paul Revere. Trumbull, for instance, rose as a significant American painter mainly from the battlefield scenes he depicted. His service in the military during the revolution informed his paintings, which shaped what the war looked like to later generations (Amedechiel, 2013). The Peale family of portraitists also arose during the period. Their depiction of famous Revolutionary War leaders such as George Washington increased the demand for their portraits and built their overall reputation.
