Introduction
In this era of internet and digital age technologies have taken a different shape the way individuals react and the empowerment of the internet. The use of cyber space has created an avenue for criminals to manipulate the system for their own selfish needs. Hackers and computer specialist have utilized the vast nature of the internet which is not regulated to carry out their criminal activities. The internet has allowed individuals to access the internet for their economic benefits, political survival, social or even for malicious benefit to them
Some of the major challenges that cyber security personnel face is the lack of a regulatory body to regulate cyber usage. The free flow of information over the internet is like a government that doesn’t have regulations. Criminals have taken advantage of this loop hole in regulation to advance their selfish needs and as such tend to benefit from lack of a regulatory body.
Lack of funds to hire competent staff that can monitor and control the abuse of cyber security, the government is not willing to invest in the hiring of staff as they see no need. Hiring of potential staff can alleviate the threats and also lead to competent personnel who can carry out recent research in dealing with cyber crime. Lack of funds is a major hindrance in the fight against cyber crime and research and analysis of cyber crime.
