Research title: Arm and Hand Movement: Current knowledge and Future Perspective
Project Description
Background: Arm and hand serves a useful function in everyday course of human life. Arm with the reaching function and hand and fingers with the grasping function is a complex behavior that appears in utero as elaborated over years (Bachmann et al, 2015).
Objectives: The project as two objectives: to generate artificial signals in the future that mimics the natural arm and hand using modern technologies. Second objective, is to provide means and how to deliver signals to the nervous system of a prosthesis user.
Aims: The main aim of this project is to:
i. To demonstrate the probability, effectiveness and tolerability of robotic-associated arm and hand.
ii. To develop technologies that enable the current and the next generation of assistive plans for providing true and natural control robotic arm and hand through improved sensory feedback.
Methodology: The method of data collection proposed in the project include: interviews, data reviews and analysis, questionnaire and sampling both first hand sources and secondary sources (Bachmann et al, 2015).
Research Timeline: 1st Month- 4th Month period timetable: Permission to access archives and attempt to identify steps in technology advancement.
