Diversity drives productivity and innovation. The Federal government has an enormous role in ensuring that organizations have incentives to recruit a diverse workplace. Before the federal government necessitated firms to become more diverse and inclusive by legislating executive orders, judicial decisions, and laws; employers lacked incentives to diversify their workforce (Chapter 2). Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) are the most prominent Federal civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination in the workplace and promote diversity. These laws, alongside legal precedents, are used to alleviate employment discrimination and its broader social and economic effects. Although the US.
