Introduction
The genesis of Murder Inc. begins many miles away from New York, and many decades before the beginning of the Civil War that occurred in 1941, on the Island of Sicily. The island was considered by its masters as the main hub of economic activity whose role was to offer a means of sustenance to the teeming multitude of the Metropolis in Rome. During the times of Augustus rule, there had been massive rebellions led by the slaves and states City-states such as Syracuse, which had been brutally oppressing. This prompted the Sicilians to hate and fear the administration, whose main intention was exploiting the wealth of the region. With the enlightened self-interest that has been considered as main characteristics of the wealthy and powerful men, the local gangs emerged and accepted the prevailing conditions, which later led the Sicilians to get themselves plundered by the landlords as well as their protectors.

Despite the fact that they were often believed to be synonymous with the Mafia, the group was entirely a different one. The group, as the name suggests was even more businesslike. Nevertheless, it was relieved from the concerns over ethnicity, tradition, as well as honor and emphasizes much on generating income and gaining more influence and power. Notably, they were mostly hoods who were also engaged in more illegal tasks, but given salaries to continue with their work when a need arises. Further, the group members were rewarded with additional pay after executing their assigned tasks. The group, with approximately ten to twenty members, was a gang of murders dubbed as "Murder Inc."
