Discussion 10: Workplace Safety and Quality Improvement
Workplace safety and quality improvement are interlinked factors for any organization that is striving for improved outcomes. In the healthcare environment, entities are always striving for better results. However, these outcomes are not achievable without primarily guaranteeing safety within the operational environment. Safety refers to ensuring no harm or danger and has to begin with the workers before facilitating the same for consumers. From the traditional perspective, the blame for accident incidences is on the worker, who shoulders all the resultant consequences. The notion is that if the operators in the care environment cannot guarantee their safety, the high chances are that the services provided are also of poor quality. Therefore, for quality improvement in the care environment, entities have to place a particular emphasis on specific aspects of talent acquisition in addition to other organizational initiatives put in place.
