The current hiring decision is between two candidates who have both recorded significant degrees of success in the field. The primary difference, however, is in that the two have different approaches to the management of change. One is a committed Lewinian while the other is a proponent of the Weick approach. Hiring, therefore, will be a selection of a single approach over the other in the management of this organization’s overall change. The selection is based on the structure of the process of change in this approach as well as the perceptions that the approach has towards individual character.
