Description
The two types of change are planned and unplanned change. The planned change is calculated, and there is the deliberate application of change theory or model hence it is warmly welcomed by staff. On the other hand, unplanned change occurs suddenly to manage a crisis and results to resistance from the staff. Since unplanned theory elicits anxiety and stress in staff, good leaders and managers are vital in driving the workforce through this change through effective communication and coordination. One change theory that can be applied in applied in making changes is the Lewin’s Force-Field theory which is categorized by unfreezing, moving and refreezing. The unfreezing phase entails identification of required change and the factors which accelerate change and those which undermining change. The restraining factors are reduced while the driving factors are enforced. The moving phases ensure by initialization of the required changes, and lastly, the refreezing changes is the implementation change and making situation norm. The theory is instrumental in planned change.
Feelings
Personally, I like to be a change agents so that I can mobilize people complaints and suggest a positive way of moving forward. I find it useful to try and explain to people the benefits of changes to them and the entire unit. Through explaining to them calmly and I a relatable manner change is adopted but with little resistance from some members.
Evaluation
As a change agent am a good listener. I ensure that I listen to every claim of an individual and try to pool them together in one solution where position. In situations where some of the complaints cannot be met, I explain personally to the staff and try to elucidate to them the big picture of change and how they will benefit from it.
Analysis
I have been able to positively implement change through using the named strategies and working together with staff to show them that change is not for specific individual but all us. Through engagement of every person and training and education on the new changes people accepted positively.
Conclusion
