Application of Kotter’s Eight Steps of Change Management to Uber Technologies Inc. Human Resource
Strategic change is the shift from one position to another to be distinctive (Hughes, 2006). Uber Technologies Inc., in the previous years, has faced a myriad of challenges in its management. Disparaging accounts of toxic work culture, its top management behaving in an epicurean manner, and incidences of nepotism are among the most significant challenges that have emerged in this company. These issues led to the sacking of the senior executive and the founder CEO Travis Kalanick forced a resignation from the company. Several employees, the drivers, and the customers lost trust in the organization during this period of crisis. However, the organization had to change the key roles and the organization's cultural beliefs to help prevent it from collapsing. All through, this paper will describe the changes the organization made basing them on Kotter's eight steps of change to the management of the human resource.
