There are different names given to new age takeovers. These names signify different meaning which reveals its ingredients. Mergers and Acquisitions have become an integral part of our present day business world. Therefore if one person is holding a stock in a company, than he or she is expected to pass through various mergers and acquisition processes. The different types of mergers and acquisitions are as under.
1 Hostile takeover is a method under which unfriendly attempts are made towards acquiring of the majority share or upholding the company. This kind of M&A observes resistance from management and board of directors.
2 Dawn raid is another takeover which is done by Investor Company by directing the brokers towards purchase of stocks from the market. This way the investor tries to make substantial stake control in the target company. Since this process is applied in the morning market live session the acquirer company finds it very late.
3 Saturday night special is an immediate attempt made by one Investor Company in acquiring other target company through public tender offer.
4 Golden Parachute is a process under which the high level executives of the company are offered with various benefits so they could work toward strong deterrent to proceedings of the process of Merger and Acquisition.
