Violence has long been part of professional life. So many of the individuals are so scared of organizational violence and that is why most of the time many people will prefer being self-employed and not being employed. However, the problem might be underestimated as there are so many unreported cases of organizational violence. In most countries, organizational violence is unaccepted and many people do not practice it (Kessler et al.,2008). Organizational violence can however take many forms, it can be physical threats or violence or rather it is possible to be psychological that is always on many occasions, this is manifested as bullying or harassment. Examples of the incidences include, Gender, color, and sexual orientation are all factors to consider. Sexual harassment is a problem that is most of the time faced by the women in an organization's one of the most infuriating and demanding experiences you'll ever have.
Violence can come from both outside and inside the workplace, from coworkers and acquaintances, as well as strangers such as clients. Certain sorts of violence are more prevalent in certain industries. Health care, education, and retail are among the occupations that experience a high rate of external physical violence. Physical violence, such as bullying or emotional violence between employees and management, can and does occur in every profession, but it is difficult to measure and often goes unreported (Marquez et al.,2020). However, it is considered that no group of workers in any business or sector is immune to violence, though some groups are more vulnerable than others. Women, younger employees, and those in precarious employment, such as racial and ethnic minorities, are more vulnerable. The articles focus on teachers, journalists, and healthcare employees, in addition to generic stories regarding workplace violence.
Teachers and employees in the education industry are particularly vulnerable to violence and stress as a result of the work they do. Teachers work alongside the school principal to interact with both internal and external users, such as pupils and parents. As the number of instructor’s increases, the majority of them are subjected to verbal and physical abuse. Violence in the workplace is not only harmful to employees, but it is also detrimental to children's education. The journalist also faces the same type of harassment is it within work or outside their workplaces (Marquez et al.,2020). Because of the nature of their profession, they came into touch with the public and covered themes such as public unrest, war, and power abuse, which were frequently perpetrated by authoritarian governments. Currently, the health sector is the most affected by the problem of violence. Almost close to a quarter of the worlds organizational violence comes from the health sector. Patients and visitors who come to see the patients are frequently the perpetrators. They get harassed by the health care workers and especially the nurses who are noted to be the most violent. Although bullying among fellow workers is usually common.
