Supplier Audits Usually Provide a More Comprehensive Look
Supplier audits usually provide a more comprehensive look into a supply chain's performance to identify the losers and winners. It is specifically a helpful tailor-made program in assessing the supplier's quality systems and the immediate work environment to establish how effective it is in meeting the client's or trusted partner's standards (Gendes Alonso, 2020). On the other hand, a supplier scorecard, also referred to as a vendor scorecard, is a tool that enables suppliers and buyers to monitor their respective working relationships. A supplier audit should be used when a supplier is having issues with the delivery or quality of the product. This elicits the need for audits at a given interval. Supplier scorecards are used when there is a need to foster understanding of the supply chain system of the business to learn about the processes and the necessary commitments to efficient and quality product delivery.
