An economic crisis presents arguably the greatest test to recruiting departments. Achieving the short and long-term targets for an organization and its personnel presents a challenge. The process may result in laying off some employees, which makes a company lose the expertise and proficiency it desires in tough times. Economic recessions lead to budget cuts in organizations. As a result, the recruitment department of an institution experiences challenges in the execution of its mandate. When a recruiting section of a criminal justice organization faces budget cuts when there is a demand for personnel, a manager considers factors and makes decisions to accommodate the two contrasting expectations.
As a manager, I would analyze particular factors. The first aspect would be the availability of an assessment team in the recruiting department. The purpose of such a subdivision is to source ideas from the government, the public, and department stakeholders regarding hiring decisions and methods. Secondly, I would consider the existing budget. Calculating resources simplify the accurate estimation of an organization’s capacity for personnel expansion.
