Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition that presents many arguments whether it is a real or a perceived disorder. Many psychologists have done extensive studies on the subject, and have come up with various conclusions. Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a disorder that has been described by Gantt (2006) as a disorder that usually occurs early in children’s lives. While some scholars agree that it qualifies to be classified as a disorder, other scholars like Timimi and Radcliffe (2005) have discredited ADHD as a real disorder and stated that it is being used to destroy the lives of children by giving them medication which is similar street drugs and that there is no proper method of diagnosing the condition. This issue is important in psychology because it will help to determine whether children that exhibit ADHD symptoms are understood and helped in the learning process.
