The article in review as relating to studies on the dynamics of self-injurious behavior research is “The Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis” by the “Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior”. The article present a study on examining the onset of self-injurious behavior in 30 youngsters, the functions of SIB and how early behavioral treatment is an effective approach to remedying SIB. As indicated from the abstract of the article, the problem of self-injurious behavior is no simple issue; considering that it is a phenomenon that has received much attention in literature. Particularly, there are few studies that have focused on early intervention for the Self-injurious behavior. In solving the research problem and generating relevant data, the researchers employed functional analyses with developmentally relevant modifications in an outpatient facility with 30 children. As discussed in the article, the implications of the research findings are beneficial to the development of early intervention programs for self-injurious behavior.
