The sympathetic nervous system puts the body on standby, enabling it to react quickly to any threat. The parasympathetic nervous system aids the body in maintaining a tranquil and moderate state. It is essential to balance the two states to ensure that we normally bring down our speed of life; this is an excellent move to boundless health and well-being.
Generalized anxiety encompasses unrestricted worrying about everyday life occurrences. A person with this type of anxiety constantly expects something terrible to occur in his job, family, or workplace. Specific phobia is fierce, unjustifiable fear of a thing that poses minimal to no danger—combining abdominal breaths and mindfulness, practicing this by calmly focusing on what is happening presently. Mindfulness helps bring back the balance between the two systems as it brings up the activity of the parasympathetic, which eventually calms the mind and the body.
