The Chinese room argument is an argument by John Searle which states that computers cannot think like humans as they do not have a mind like normal humans. Based on these argument computers are only able to produce responses as directed by humans through programming. Searle presented the experiment of the Chinese room to confront the claim among many people that computers can think like humans.
In the experiment, Searle argues that unlike humans computers are not intelligent and cannot think on their own. Computers cannot feel and do not have feelings because they do not have a mind.
