Name: Instructor’s Name: Course: Date: Mono-tasking Introduction Mono-tasking gives the person a chance to concentrate only on one activity without having to divide their attention. With mono-tasking, the brain keeps reminding you to give attention only to one task, since an attempt to divide your attention impairs the quality of the other task. Multi-tasking requires consistent practice, but even with managing to clear several tasks concurrently, there is an increased chance of reduced quality in results. Mono-tasking has many benefits compared to multitasking. While putting undivided attention on one task, the accuracy in completion of that task is assured and increased. All the small details, instructions, and other areas which would have not been noticed while multi-tasking will be noticed here (Lascau 54). Mono-tasking presents one with a chance of increasing their attention span. This is because they do not have to juggle between several other commitments but only concentrate on the one at hand. Having the chance to only focus on one task at hand, their attention span will be greatly enhanced. Juggling between different tasks does not allow one to focus solely on one task (Adler and Benbunan 435). Mono-tasking increases the productivity of the work.
