INTRODUCTION
Everyone responds uniquely to different forms of therapy. To social workers in the counseling department, theoretical orientation is crucial in subjecting their clients to the right therapeutic treatments. Therapy may be a daunting task, especially when a counselor does not aptly respond to the dynamisms of human psychology. Being psychologically ready for the task ahead not only boosts emotional confidence, but is also career fulfilling. Acquainting oneself with every bit of theoretical orientation approach is a great tool in satisfying the client’s core need, and the outcome is always appealing. This report entails summary of the findings obtained from an interview conducted with a clinician in a local health center, regarding their theoretical orientation and how they conceive the changes in their clients. The interview also revealed the modalities they use in the counseling process, and the distinguishing features between my orientation and the clinician’s.
