The requirements of obtaining a Licensure in Behavior Analysis (LBA) in the state of New York are slightly different when compared to when the licensure is obtained from the Behavior analysis certification board (BACB). In New York, to apply for licensure, one must have a master's degree from a program that is registered under the Department CITATION Cli19 \l 1033 (Clinician's Corner, 2019). On the other hand, to apply for licensure under the BACB, the minimum requirement is the completion of a degree in “ABA, psychology, or education with an ABA focus” CITATION App \l 1033 (AppliedBehaviorAnalysis.org). In New York, there is no compulsory number of instructor-hours that one is required to complete but in BACB, one is required to complete 405 instructor-hours. In New York, the supervised experience is 1500 hours while in BACB it is flexible between 750 and 1000 depending on the program one chooses CITATION App \l 1033 (AppliedBehaviorAnalysis.org). In BACB there is even an allowance for individual experience. In New York one does 2 exams; one is similar to the one taken in BACB and the other is the New York Autism Exam. On the other hand, one is just required to pass one exam; the BACB exam.
